Goodness… Jason and I were gung ho on taking advantage of Baskin Robbins’ Summer Solstice promotion. Or at least I was! 31 cents per child’s scoop of ice cream. What could be better? I’m not sure what my first scoop was… I think it had blueberries? I’m not even sure what my second scoop was either… But I do know (well, I’m pretty sure) that my third scoop was America’s Birthday Cake!!! The BEST freakin’ ice cream flavor ever! And by ever, I mean even better than blue bubblegum ice cream sans the bubble gum. Yes, I know… I never thought I’d say that…
I know what you’re thinking… “3 scoops?!?! Really?” Yes, seriously. Each. And then I convinced him to go back in for one more to go =) That’s how good it was!
It’s genius… a smart classic blend of strawberry ice cream with pieces of vanilla cake and swirls of blue frosting… delicious!
Unfortunately, it’s one of those seasonal flavors and I don’t think it’s available anymore, but maybe next summer =)

I honestly don’t know why this is even posted on a food blog. What is the point for this review? Baskin Robbins? Are you kidding me? Who cares about the 31 cent per scoop! If I want some promotional ice cream, I rather go to BEN & JERRY’S ice cream. Why? They’re a lot more freshly made and use more wholesome ingredients. On top of that, they’re FREE during 2 times of the year. Best of all, they’re doing it charity (meaning, they take donation for their charity). Convince me why I even bother going for 31 cent per scoop over FREE FREE FREE ice cream.
Honestly, why is this even posted? Everyone goes to Baskin Robbins anyway. Each one have their own favorite flavor AND they may (or may not) like the “America’s Birthday Cake.”
This “review” is purely subjective and has no indication to inform the readers why this particular Baskin Robbins is “special.” Does this particular “restaurant” serve special favors for a limited time? Does this “location” got some interesting atmosphere?
I honestly thought this review is a joke. Sure, I will tell all my visiting friend that Baskin Robbins is the place to eat ice cream just because they had that one day ice cream promotion. Nothing like franchise food places to make San Diego stands out from the rest of the cities all over the nation with the exactly the same thing.
Urgh. I’m angry now. I lost my hunger for good food.

hmm… this wasn’t really about their promo. that was just background san diego info.
