This hole-in-the-wall place is very popular among locals and tourists because you can get a bowl of noodles for about $7 or less. There is limited seating at various counters. Expect to wait in line for a seat. The kitchen is adjacent to the dining area, so you can watch as they prepare your meal.
Special Regular ($7). It’s special because it’s loaded with slices of pink and white fish balls, half a boiled egg, some wontons, chunks of BBQ beef, and bits of ham. It’s the regular sized portion.

Koloa is a very small town and there are limited food options. Pizza sounded good though, so we decided to have dinner here.
Barbeque Chicken Pizza ($18.95 Medium) - Homemade BBQ sauce with fresh papaya and red onions. I was not impressed with the size of this pizza. It was a small. But, it was a tasty pizza. The sauce was a little tangy and the crust was in-between a regular crust and a thin crust.
Genki Sushi

I wanted to try out Genki Sushi because I had heard that they served their reasonably priced sushi on a conveyor belt! Each item is served on a color coded plate, which indicates the cost of the item.
GOLD PLATES ($1.55): Tofu and Tuna Salad - I liked the homemade tuna salad from a can taste. It was very moist and creamy.
GREEN PLATES ($2.20): Spicy Tuna

Goi Cuon Tom Thit / Summer Rolls ($4) - With shrimp and pork. Served with a peanut dipping sauce. Dave says: The rolls were pretty standard. I normally don’t like it when they use shredded lettuce instead of sprouts, but it wasn’t bad. My only complaint was that some parts of the wrap were hard. I have a suspicion that the rolls are premade and when they sit around, the wrapping dries and hardens up, especially around the ends.

Friday night is Art Night in Hanapepe. You can browse the galleries from 6 pm to 9 pm. Meet some of the local artists and gallery owners. Some of them offer little treats, such as cookies, crackers, cheese, and wine.
During this time at Hanapepe Cafe, a special (limited) menu is served and it changes every Friday night. The other entrees that we did not order were Southwestern Vegetable Pie ($22) and Paella ($28).

Shrimp Spring Rolls ($7.95 for 4 pieces) - Rice paper stuffed with long rice, onions, mushrooms, and water chestnuts. Served with fresh lettuce, mint leaves, and cucumber. These rolls are fried and you can order Vegetable Spring Rolls instead for $7.25. I don’t like mushrooms, which this is full of, but I had to have another. It’s delicious.
Savage Shrimp

Who would ever buy shrimp from the back of a truck? Well, I did and all I can say is you don’t know what you’re missing out on.
I’m pretty sure there’s like only one road to Poipu from Kalaheo. Savage Shrimp is parked in the dirt, right before you get to all the fancy resorts. There’s construction going on there now. They’re building condos. Sorry I can’t be more specific.
