Yes, this is a chain, but it's not in San Diego, so I thought I would share...
I first "discovered" Buffalo Wild Wings in the Tahoe/Reno area and thought their wings were great! Why? They're tasty and you can choose from 14 different sauces! And there it was... My mission to try all 14! The closest location to San Diego is Murrieta, but there are also some in LA and Las Vegas. Not to mention the many others all over the country, especially the eastern half...
On my second visit (this time to Murrieta), B tried the Huckleberry Lemonade ($3.29 with free refills). It must have been good because he had two refills and huckleberry usually isn't something that's readily available for you to taste, so why not try it?
We started with the Potato Wedges with Cheese (regular size - $3.29). They're supposed to be sour cream and chive, but the sour cream didn't really stand out. The cheese was sparse.
Then, the moment I had been waiting for - Boneless Wings (24 for $16.99). With 24, we were able to choose four sauces. In the picture, Parmesan Garlic (roasted garlic and parmesan sauce with Italian herbs) and Hot BBQ in the top row and then Caribbean Jerk (red peppers and island spices) and Spicy Garlic in the bottom row. Sadly, I wasn't too thrilled with the boneless wings or the sauces. The boneless wings were like mini versions of the chicken strips that are available at supermarket delis. There was too much of a crunchy breading for me. Maybe this also affected my perception of the sauces... I thought Parmesan Garlic was too creamy for wings. It belongs on a pasta dish. Hot BBQ was too hot for me. The spices in Caribbean Jerk were interesting, but not something that I could eat a lot of.
I'm not saying don't go here. On the contrary, I would still like to eat here again. But next time, I'm going to stick with their traditional wings. My two favorite sauces from Tahoe were Asian Zing (chili pepper, soy, and ginger sauce) and Mango Habanero. The Asian Zing has a sweet taste, almost like honey, because of their sweet chili sauce. But beware of the Mango Habanero! Hot! HOt! HOT! I could only take one bite, but it was good.
They don't serve just wings. You can also order salads, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, desserts, etc. It's also a great place for families and for watching sporting events. There are lots of TVs. Some show sports and some have trivia questions. You can ask for a hand-held device to play along. They also have little paper buffalo crowns for kids.

Foodie cities
I always fantasized about living in cities known for a large amount of gastronomical pleasures - this is because there is a multitude of blogs writing about LA dining, Las Vegas dining, or SD dining. What makes a city great for food - a variety of cultures, an open-minded and wealthy population, and an overall appreciation of culture. Unfortunately, where I live lacks all of the above.
Oh by the way, my favorite flavor there was Parmesan Garlic!
