On my way home from LA, I was getting super tired, so I decided to stop by the Irvine Spectrum Center hoping to find a Starbucks, but they had a Tea Station instead, so I decided to try something different…

It was getting late and I was at my Cliffs of Insanity… it was dark and cold… I had been talking to Michelle for like an hour and decided that it was time to get some food. Late nights have always screamed mexican food since my TWE days, but I wanted to try something different, so I drove around the streets of La Jolla, past my beloved John Muir College, past Tioga Hall… I saw Croutons, but kept driving. I drove through Miramar and ended up in Mira Mesa.

One of my favorite dishes that my mom makes is what we call ‘chicken spaghetti.’ I think the only real spaghetti part of it is the thin spaghetti noodles we put in it. It ends up being more of a cassarole.

On our quest to seek out the ultimate refreshment, my friend took me to a well known tea place in Clairemont Mesa. The first thing to impress me was the size of the vacinity. There was a large, well-lite lounge along with an impressive library and book and movie rental area, well equipped with the lastest anime and asian movies. This joint also had it’s own photobooth! As my friend said, “It’s not corny, it’s culture.” It was also very odd that the bathrooms were located outside of the vacinity and customers had to request a key, sort of like a gas station.

So one day, I’m extremely hungry and with Dennis. What else is there to do other than eat out in Mira Mesa with all of the great small businesses? He tells me about a great burrito thats larger than my forearm for only $6. Unbelievable! I had to see it for myself.

I’ve been to this place years ago when my friend Quoc worked here. It’s changed a lot since then, as they have expanded a new room on the northern wall.

At the entrance, Chau talked to one of the customers who was looking at the outdoor menu. The woman professed her love for this place and its vegetarian cuisine. But we didn’t come here for food today. We only wanted to get some drinks.
