Restaurant 5 - $15 Lunch at McCormick & Schmick's

Somehow I missed this restaurant when looking at the lunch menu but luckily Dennis found it.

Portobello, Fresh Mozzarella on Crostini with Tomato Salad

Finally, a delicious and satisfying appetizer.  It was the right cheesiness with generous slices of portabello and mozzarella.  The balsamic and olive oil gave it the appetizer taste I was looking for all week!

Carlsbad Mussels in Red Thai Curry

I'm not too familar with mussels so I thought they were on the normal side BUT the red thai curry sauce was very flavorful.  I wanted to take some home to add to homecooked jasmine rice!

Salmon and Penne Pasta Tossed with Pesto Cream Sauce and Tomatoes

Penne is one of our favorite pastas and this dish hit the spot for Dennis.  The amount of sauce was just right and even though it was cheesy, it wasn't overly so.  We wished there were more salmon pieces but what was there was cooked great.

Parmesan Crusted Tilapia with Lemon Butter and Capers

We loved the uniqueness of this dish.  An otherwise noraml tilapia was instantly transformed by the toasted parmesan crust and and complemented by the lemon sauce.  I thought the capers were too salty for my taste so left most on the plate.  Also, I liked the rice because it seemed slightly flavored itself, unless the sauces and crusts mixed in unknowingly!  It was a generous helping so I was pretty full after finishing it.

Vanilla Creme Brulee

We almost ordered two but decided to try multiple desserts like usual.  After taking a bite of that beautiful dessert, we were slightly disappointed.  I prefer my filling on the sweeter side so this didn't do it for me.  The fruits had to make up for the sweetness I wanted.

Two Soft Chocolate Cookies Sandwiched with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Sauce

Here's the surprise dessert winner!  I don't usually like chocolate cookies but this one was soft and decadent.  The simple vanilla ice cream was easily dressed up by the chocolate or caramel sauce drizzled around the plate without being too much.

This was the best lunch of the week AND we got dessert!  I'd come back for more!
