Dining Out Can Take the Place of a Holiday Meal Planning Template
Ah the holidays! Time to enjoy family, friends and great food. It's no coincidence that just about every holiday is accompanied by a specific food. Thanksgiving—turkey. Christmas— eggnog and candy canes. Independence Day—hot dogs. But with all of the extra duty that Christmas brings with it, it can be super daunting to organize a meal planning template on top of everything else. Fortunately there are a few options that you can use if you're looking to dine out during the holidays. Whether you're looking for traditional holiday fare or something that turns holiday tradition on its head, there's something for you.
For something a little upscale, if you’re spending this holiday in the San Diego area, Bertrand at Mr. A’s is hosting dinner on Christmas Eve. From 4:30-6:00 pm they’ll have an a la carte Christmas menu and then from 7:00-cl there will be a three-course prix fix ($85) including choices of braised veal and beef tenderloin.
NINE-TEN and The Palm are also offering special Christmas Eve dinners. Make reservations and forget all about the stress of cooking a giant spread for your family this year. Christmas day restaurant selections in San Diego boast a pretty wide variety to choose from. Check out this list.
If you’re going to be a little further north, closer to L.A., Kabuki Japanese Restaurant might make a fun alternative to the anti-Christmas-dinner-Chinese-food tradition. Raffi’s Place in
Glendale has terrific Persian-Armenian fare on Christmas day too.
When it comes down to it, the holidays are about creating memories with the ones you love. Think of something that will be memorable for everyone and make it happen! But most importantly, don't forget to have fun and relax this year.
