San Luis Rey Café

The San Luis Rey Cafe used to be next to Fortunes, but it has been moved next to the pool, where Cabana Cove was.  It's a little bit nicer in the new location because there's a view, but the decor is still Cabana Cove.  It makes me think that they're remodeling and will be moving the Cafe back to the old spot.  I asked an employee about it, but he didn't know anything...

Anyway, there are a lot of different items on the menu: appetizers, salads, soups, tacos, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, pasta, BBQ, steaks, fried rice, breakfast, and dessert!

Slow Roasted Prime Rib of Beef

S ordered the Slow Roasted Prime Rib of Beef ($17.99) - served with seasonal vegetables and your choice of baked potato or mashed potatoes.  S wanted it rare, but our server said they would make it medium rare due to cooking/health concerns.  I tried the baked potato and it was definitely tasty with butter, sour cream, and a little bit of salt.

Chicken Burrito

I had the Chicken Burrito ($8.99) – chicken, beans, and cheese wrapped in a flour tortilla served with cucumber-orange-radish salsa, avocado tomato salad, cilantro and chipotle aioli.  I can’t believe how good this burrito was! The chunks of grilled chicken were delicious. The flour tortilla was fresh and soft. It was a pretty good sized burrito, too! It should be served with a side of tortilla chips though.

The good thing is they are open 24/7, so if you happen to be up late gambling the night away and get the munchies, you can still get something to eat.  We were too full to try any of the desserts.  If you have, leave a comment and let me know how it was! =)
