Taste of North Park 2018 - highlights

We've always enjoyed food events and Taste of North Park is no exception. Heck, we've visited in 2017,  2015, 2014, etc so we are constantly revisiting to see what's new in the area! This year's event was on October 13 between 11am - 3pm. There were separate $20 beer and $40 food tickets, as well as a combined beer/food ticket for $50. My brother joined us for this crawl and we were all eager to eat and drink!

Each location is assigned a number and they mark off the corresponding number on your ticket. There was a separate section for food and drinks. In this pic, Tribute Pizza sampled their focaccia bread along with choice of oil/vinegar or marinara dip.

I haven't processed my photos yet so I may add to this post if I have the time. There's still plenty of action in the blog post as it stands!

I'm not sure if there were any other non-alcohlic drinks served during the event but Dennis's first stop was for Revive Kombucha. I met up with them afterwards so didn't have a chance to try this one.

We've recently visited Mr. Moto Pizza House in Point Loma and apparently they have a location in North Park too! Of course we chose one of each flavor!

Another early on stop was was Waypoint Public, not far from ticket pickup. This was probably the tastiest sample within our first hour of the event!

I didn't recognize the name of this restaurant but the wooden tables jogged my memory! The best sample here was delicious, cheesy stuffed, carb-loaded goodness bread. Not quite sure what item that would be on their menu.

Surprisingly, Naked Juice had a booth at this event. They offered us a free juice and snack bar, then helped us record a boomerange video. We posted it online with #FillYourCartForGood and the company will donate to fight hunger for every post! I later saw that it was related to a "shopping cart" dance! Fun stuff.

Here's a new spot we found during the taste: Burrology! They sampled this street taco and gave us a $2 off signature burrito coupon!

El Comal served this chicken verde type item (not sure what it was called).

By the time we got to Mastiff, our card was almost halfway filled! I devoured these sausages, enjoying the bite of the mustard sauce that accompanied it.

Another favorite bite was this slow roasted lamb on butternut squash polenta. Way to use in season vegetables! I love Fall options!

Tiny chicken bites from Streetcar Merchants of Chicken. One is Nashville while the other is regular flavor.

It doesn't look like much but WOW, this shortrib slider had it going on! Redwing Bar & Grill really knows how to work the sliders!

I've been SOOOO curious about Shank & Bone, which is priced much higher than the Vietnamese food I'm used to. They sampled a mini cup of pho (Vietnamese noodle soup) and OMG that broth was so delicious! I wanted my own bowl right then and there! We'll have to come back soon!

Tamarindo Latin Kitchen has a fun brunch menu and we were able to sample a taco this time.

Holsem Coffee was along the way to our car and I almost didn't stop in because we don't drink coffee. I decided to ask if they served anything else and we were able to taste their refreshing teas! A great end of the adventure stop. It was time to head home and take an afternoon nap! Until next time!

So many new places! I used to LOVE Tribute though. Their charcuterie boards are gorgeous!
